Cooktown hotel pickup and drop-off • Air-conditioned transport • Guided interpretative walk • Visit multiple rock art sites
What to bring
Closed footwear must be worn. Water is provided. Don't forget to bring your hat, sunscreen and camera!
This walk will take you through dramatic landscape to various rock art sites, including an ancestral Birth Cave where Willie’s grandfather was born, set in stunning countryside high in the hills above Hope Vale. Here Willie shares the stories behind the art and explains how the paintings speak of the essence of life and the lores of his people.
Along the way you'll learn some of the survival techniques of the Nugal-warra people, and maybe taste a green ant or two!
Includes an estimated 30-minute bush walk, with a short climb to two of the sites, but generally the terrain is easy.
