Departing Cairns, Northern Beaches or Port Douglas, this overnight tour offers an incredible insight into the region’s natural and cultural heritage. Experience traditional fishing and gathering at Cooya Beach, explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest at Mossman Gorge and overnight at Cape Tribulation. On day two, enjoy a Daintree River Cruise and an Aboriginal art class where you’ll have the opportunity to create your own souvenir to take home.

What to bring
Shorts, T-shirt, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, towel, swimwear & bottle of water, (poncho provided when required), overnight bag (no suitcases please).
Day 1 You will be collected from your accommodation to travel to beautiful Cooya Beach (Kuyu Kuyu), the traditional fishing grounds of the Kuku Yalanji people. Join a member of the Kubirri Warra clan on a walk along the beach and mudflats into the shallows and mangroves and learn to hunt for tucker (food). Any catch of crabs, mussels and fish is cooked up to share with homemade damper on the balcony of the family home.
We continue on to Mossman Gorge where you are greeted with a traditional smoking ceremony of spiritual cleansing and experience the world's oldest and most beautiful rainforests with your Adventure North guide. Travelling north through the rainforest, we then cross the Daintree River and journey deep into the World Heritage-listed Daintree National Park and Cape Tribulation.

Day 2 After a light breakfast and early walk along Cape Tribulation Beach, the tour continues on to the Daintree River and it’s all aboard for a one-hour cruise before lunch. Today you will also meet local Aboriginal artist, “Binna”. Share in Aboriginal culture through storytelling experiences and create your own souvenir of Australian art to take home.
