Travel The Bama Way and experience Tropical North Queensland through the eyes of the people who have been its custodians for tens of thousands of years.

The Bama Way Aboriginal Journeys has been operating since 2007 and is an innovative partnership between Aboriginal tour specialist Adventure North Australia, Kuku Yalanji Cultural Habitat Tours, Cooya Beach and the Walker Family Tours, Wujal Wujal Art Center and Cooktown.

The word ‘Bama’ (pronounced Bumma) is widely used throughout Far North Queensland to mean an Aboriginal person, but in both Kuku Yalanji and Guugu Yimithirr tribes, the word simply means ‘person’ regardless of nationality or race.

Please note: we have been advised that Willie Gordon of Guurrubi Tours has retired and will no longer be operating as of January 2017.
